The State of Iowa allows three attempts to pass the CNA state test. If you have exhausted all three attempts, you must register for and complete a CNA course again before you are eligible to retest.

If you have attempted the state test fewer than three times, Health Tech Associates offers practice appointments to help you prepare for your next attempt.

Eligibility Requirement: You must have a certificate of completion from a CNA training course to qualify for a practice appointment. Students who have not completed a CNA course are not eligible.

Option 1: Written Exam + Skills Practice

Time: 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Cost: $125

This appointment includes:

• Practice written exam with instructor evaluation
• CNA skills practice with instructor feedback

Option 2: Skills Practice Only

Time: 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Cost: $125

This appointment includes:

• Up to 4 hours of hands-on CNA skills practice
• Individualized instructor feedback

The total cost is $125 for either appointment option.
