Pharmacy technicians play an essential role in helping pharmacies operate safely, accurately, and efficiently. They assist pharmacists with prescription processing, medication preparation, inventory management, insurance billing, customer service, and medication safety.
The Health Tech Associates Pharmacy Technician Program provides structured education for individuals preparing to work in pharmacy settings and pursue national certification.

This is more than a short test-preparation course. Students complete a comprehensive, 132-hour curriculum covering the knowledge and skills commonly expected of entry-level pharmacy technicians.

The Health Tech Associates Pharmacy Technician Program was developed using pharmacy technician education standards and the knowledge areas assessed on the Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination, commonly called the PTCE.
Course content is aligned with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s PTCE content areas and Certified Pharmacy Technician knowledge expectations.
Completing this program does not automatically make a student a Certified Pharmacy Technician. Graduates who meet the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s eligibility requirements must apply for, schedule, and pass the national certification examination to earn the CPhT credential.
Students are encouraged to review the current examination eligibility requirements directly through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board before registering.

Yes. The Pharmacy Technician Program is delivered completely online in an asynchronous format. Pharmacy technician students do not need to attend scheduled live classes unless an optional session is offered.

No previous pharmacy technician or pharmacy experience is required to enroll in the Pharmacy Technician Program unless otherwise stated in the current enrollment requirements.
Students who successfully complete the Pharmacy Technician Program will receive a Health Tech Associates Pharmacy Technician Program Certificate of Completion.
The certificate of completion is not the same as national pharmacy technician certification. To become a Certified Pharmacy Technician, students must meet the certification organization’s eligibility requirements and pass the applicable national pharmacy technician certification examination.
Yes. The Pharmacy Technician Program is designed to cover the major knowledge areas assessed on the Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination, commonly called the PTCE.
Completing the Pharmacy Technician Program does not guarantee examination eligibility or a passing PTCE score. Success depends on the pharmacy technician student’s participation, preparation, study habits, and examination performance.
Yes. The asynchronous format allows many pharmacy technician students to complete coursework around their work, family, and personal schedules.
